Beginning in he spent four years at University College, Oxford, and afterward settled in London where be began his career as a writer. He is drawn into a marriage which he does not have the nerve to stop and becomes a member of the Tulsi household.

The characters are rich, the humour is sharp, and the story is touching. Raindrops glittered as they struck the sodden ground. How does religion affect the ways the characters in the novel treat each other? The descriptions of family life, of community, and of the natural and social landscape of mid-twentieth Trinidad are lush and gloriously sensual.
As you read, did they change and if so how did they change? Mr Biswas himself nurtures the dream of literature. And on this occasion, I am sure I will continue reading Naipaul novels.
